- MAJIRA: WAUGUZI wa Afya katika Hospitali Teule wilayani Muheza wamedai kwamba wamekuwa wakicheleweshewa mishahara yao katika hospitali hiyo hali ambayo inasababisha wafanye kazi katika mazingira magumu na kutokutimiza wajibu wao ipasavyo. Katika risala ya wauguzi kwenye ya wauguzi duniani iliyoadhimishwa kiwilaya hivi karibuni katika Kijiji cha Magoda ambayo ilisomwa na Furaha Kiswaka, walisema pia wauguzi hao wanakabiliwa na tatizo la nyumba kwa wanaoishi vijijini ambapo wanaishi katika makazi duni. Wauguzi wengine wanaishi mbali na vituo vya kufanyia kazi hivyo wanahatarisha maisha yao hasa wakati wa usiku wanapokuwa na zamu huku wakishauri panapojengwa zahanati pajengwe na nyumba ya muuguzi. Pia wanakabiliwa na upungufu wa vifaa tiba, vifaa vya usafi na mahitaji muhimu kwa ajili ya usafi na ingawaje mkuu wa wilaya amekuwa akijitahidi kupatikana vifaa hivyo, bado hospitali ya wilaya Teule kuna uhaba mkubwa wa dawa.
- Tanzania Daima: SERIKALI imesema bado inafanyia kazi suala la kuwarudishia fedha waliokuwa wanachama wa Kampuni ya Upatu ya DECI. Taarifa hiyo ilitolewa bungeni jana na Waziri wa Fedha, William Mgimwa, alipokuwa akijibu swali la Mbunge wa Moshi Mjini, Philemon Ndesamburo (CHADEMA), aliyetaka kujua lini serikali itarudisha fedha za wanachama wa DECI ambazo walipanda baada ya serikali kusimamisha shughuli za kampuni hiyo na kuwafikisha mahakamani viongozi wake. Mgimwa alisema suala la kurudisha fedha za wanachama wa DECI linashughulikiwa na kwamba likiwa tayari taarifa itatolewa kwa wabunge na wananchi. Awali akijibu swali la msingi la Ndesamburo, Mgimwa alisema hakuna utapeli wowote kuhusiana na uanzishwaji na uendeshaji wa shughuli za Kampuni ya National Investment Company Limited (NICOL) . Alisema hatima ya wanahisa wa Kampuni ya NICOL itaamuliwa na wanahisa wenyewe kwa kuzingatia sheria iliyoanzisha kampuni hiyo.
- NIPASHE: Tume ya Taifa ya Uchaguzi (NEC), imekataa mapendekezo ya vyama vya siasa ya kutaka uchaguzi mdogo Jimbo la Chambani, kisiwani Pemba na ule wa udiwani katika kata 26 kwenye halmashauri 21 za Tanzania Bara uahirishwe, kwa madai kwamba, unawanyima wananchi waliotimiza umri wa kisheria haki ya kupiga kura. Pia imekataa pendekezo la vyama vya siasa ya kutaka jukumu la kuwalipa mawakala posho za kazi ya kulinda kura za wagombea wa vyama hivyo kwenye uchaguzi. Mapendekezo hayo yalitolewa na viongozi wa vyama hivyo, katika mkutano uliotishwa na NEC kwa lengo la kujadili na kupeana taarifa za maandalizi ya chaguzi hizo, jijini Dar es Salaam jana. Kwa mujibu wa ratiba iliyotangazwa na NEC, chaguzi hizo mbili ndogo zitafanyika Juni 16, mwaka huu. Makamu Mwenyekiti wa NEC, Hamid Mahmoud Hamid, alisema iwapo chaguzi hizo hazitafanyika watakuwa wanavunja sheria. Alisema kwa mujibu wa sheria, katika uchaguzi mkuu mmoja na mwingine, uboreshaji wa Daftari la Kudumu la Wapigakura (DKWK), unatakiwa ufanyike mara mbili tu, hivyo akasema kuitishwa kwa chaguzi hizo ndogo, hakujakiuka sheria. Kamishna wa NEC, Profesa Amon Chaligha, alisema Tume itakuwa na uwezo wa kuboresha DKWK mara kwa mara tofauti na sasa iwapo tu sheria husika itabadilika.

Je, serikali ina kauli gani kwa wananchi kuwa sasa wataanza kujenga imani na chombo hicho ambacho kimeishaanza kupoteza imani kwa wananchi?” alihoji mchungaji Msigwa. Akijibu maswali hayo, Naibu Waziri wa Habari, Vijana, Utamaduni na Michezo, Amoss Makala, alisema si kweli shirika hilo linatangaza habari zake kwa kukipendelea Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). Akijibu swali jingine Makala alisema mikoa ambayo haipati matangazo ya redio ni tisa ambayo ni Kaskazini Unguja, Kusini Unguja, Mjini Magharibi, Kaskazini Pemba, Kusini Pemba, Geita, Mtwara, Njombe na Simiyu.

- BBC: Mosquitoes carrying the malaria parasite are more attracted to human body odour than uninfected insects, a study suggests. Researchers found that infected insects were three times more likely to be lured towards a human scent. They believe that the deadly parasites are seizing control of their biting hosts and boosting their sense of smell. The research is published in the journal Plos One.
- Nigeria, Tanzania: The inclusion of cassava flour in bread has received continental attention with some African leaders demonstrating their support for the innovation in Tanzania. Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Tanzani 's former President Benjamin Mkapa and the President of Tanzania, Dr Mrisho Jakaya Kikwete, eat bread baked with 40 percent cassava flour, noting that it would bring several benefits to the continent. President Kikwete, after inaugurating the IITA Science Building in Dar es Salaam, commended IITA for the bread technology, saying that the bread had an “excellent” taste. “There is no difference between this bread and the normal bread we are used to,” he added. The 40 percent cassava bread was first developed by IITA in Nigeria, as part of efforts to boost the utilization of cassava and create market for farmers.
- NPR: The ceiling of a Cambodian factory that makes Asics sneakers collapsed on workers early Thursday, killing two people and injuring seven, in the latest accident to spotlight lax safety conditions in the global garment industry. About 50 workers were inside the factory, south of the capital Phnom Penh, when the ceiling caved in, said police officer Khem Pannara. He said heavy iron equipment stored on the floor above appeared to have caused the collapse. Two bodies were pulled from the wreckage and seven people were injured, he said. Rescuers combed through rubble for several hours and after clearing the site said that nobody else was trapped inside.
