SIKU MAALUM YA KUMKUMBUKA HAYATI MWALIMU NYERERE

Kwa nini tunaikumbuka Mwalimu  Nyerere  siku hii ya leo miaka 12 baada ya kifo chake?

 Nyerere alikuwa anawaambia viongozi waliokuwa chini yake kuwa:

·        kama unahitaji heshimna yangu nionyeshe kuwa unastahili kwa kutimiza wajibu wako

·        Wewe sio mtu mbaya kama umefanya kosa lakini utakuwa mtu mbaya kwa taifa la Tanzania kama utashindwakujifunza kutokana na kosa lako.

·        Kimya changu wakati mwingine si kwamba nimesahau au nimedharau hapana kwani hata mlima unaweza kuwa kimya lakini  una volcano ndani  yake na siku ikilipuka matokeo yake tunayajua

·        Sio kila jambo mtakalo lifanya litamfurahisha kila mtu hapana,  lakini kuna kitu kimoja tu kizuri kuhusu kila mtu katika taifa hili ni ustawi wa jamii yetu na amani yetu

·        Kama kuna viongozi wanasababisha utendaji ulio mbovu,  lazima tuwawajibishe na  tusiwaonee huruma hata kidogo

·        Kwa nini tusiwatendee wananchi wetu vile tunavyotaka  sisi kutendewa au vile sisi tunavyojitendea?

·        Nyerere daima macho yake yalikuwa yakiuma kwa kulilia haki za wanyonge, moyo wake ulikuwa ukiuma kwa kujaribu kuwaletea maendeleo wanyonge lakini mafanikio yalikuwa madogo kutokana na umasikini wa taifa letu na Roho yake ulikuwa ikiuma kwa kuwaombea wananchi wake amani na ustawi kitu ambacho alifurahi mpaka kufa kwake kulikuwa na amani na utulivu; kwa kuendelea kukosoana kwa hoja na sio matumizi ya nguvu.

·        Kwa kweli  wakati mwingine maisha yanakuwa magumu lakini mara nyingi sisi viongozi tunayafanya maisha kuwa magumu kwa wananchi wetu kwa maslahi yetu binafsi; Ugumu wa upatikanaji wa huduma za jamii nani anasababisha ugumu wa mafanikio yake? tatizo la mgao wa umeme linaloendelea hivi sasa nchini nini chanzo chake kikubwa? uzembe uko wapi? nani wa kulaumiwa?

·        Katika maisha yetu ya kila siku ni kweli kuwa matatizo yanayoikumba taifa letu yataendeleea kuwapo na kamwe hayataisha mara moja, basi inatupasa kama viongozi kuendelea kuyataua, na kuyakabili  bila kuchoka. Je taifa letu limejipanga vipi kuhusu kuhusu ongezeko la watu ukilingananisha na huduma zinazotolewa? je uwiano wa huduma na ukuaji  miji yetu  na ongezeko la watu ni sawa? nini kifanyike sasa?

But how many of us can dance, or have even heard of the gombe sugu, the mangala, nyang umumi, kiduo, or lele mama?" 

50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE AND HOW WE VIEW OUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As we celebrate our 50 years of independence Nyerere was aware that, Work is part of the God’s creation. To be a good worker is therefore a blessing;

God wants us to find meaning, purpose and fulfillment in any kind of work we are talented in our work places. This is possible if only we are going to integrate godly principles in our jobs;

God reminds us that our work is in his hands although sometimes it is hard and frustrating, still we need to be thankful.

The parable of the talents shows that God is still asking us to be fruitful and productive. This parable presents a clear demand from God for a return, and the greatest return often exposes us to the greatest risk. Things like fighting for corruption, brings social welfare for our people, be honest, be accountable be responsible and be wise is want God is asking us to do in our different positions we hold.

WHAT GOD EXPECTS US AS WE PERFORM OUR JOBS?

1. Know that we are anointed for the job or position you now hold. God uses ordinary circumstances as a training ground to perfect our character.  Fight for corruptions and embezzlements for the benefit of nation and in fulfilling your anointment as we celebrate the 50 years of independence. 

2. Don't expect to be appreciated. God values humility and servant hood, not pride and entitlement. Most politicians are looking for more pride and always they want to be seen as worldly gods;

3. Embrace opportunities for change. May we reach the stage of maturity when we are no longer surprised by change? 

4. Do the job well while remembering the vision. The secret to performing your duties well where you are is to maintain a vision of where you're headed. If we can focus on this we can avoid all the problem of power shortage and poor infrastructures and social welfare which make the nation to remain poor.

5. Don't let the environment get inside us. To counter bad political attitudes, behavior, which can promote chaos in the society; let our politicians use the parliament for the benefit of nation and not for the development of themselves and their political parties.
6. Increase our capacity to work with difficult personalities. Too often we only try to fit in and connect with others similar to us. Let us use our differences in policy for developing people and not for benefiting our individualism; 

7. Where we are now is not where we are going. Be peaceful while progressive let us solve problem facing the nation with integrity and accountability. 

8. Achieve optimal results with minimal confusion. We spend too much time trying to compensate for our weaknesses rather than capitalizing on our strengths. 

GOD BLESS US AS WE  ARE IN CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE BY CONTINUNING WITH HARD WORKING; AND BE HONEST AND TRUE TO ONE ANOTHER;

"Inawezekana tatizo la paka kwa panya lingekwisha kama paka angefungiwa kengele shingoni: taabu ni kumpata panya wa kuifanya kazi hiyo. Na panya watakuwa wajinga sana wakidhani kuwa paka watajifunga au watafungana kengele shingoni"

“Lakini ni dhahiri kwamba mambo hayo yanategemea maendeleo ya uchumi, madhali nchi yetu bado masikini; na wananchi hawakupata elimu; na ni wajinga na wanyonge, basi uhuru wetu wa kujitawala unaweza kuhatarishwa na taifa lolote la kigeni lenye maendeleo na nguvu zaidi.”

...."Kiongozi anayetufaa Tanzania , ni yule anayejua kuwa nchi yetu ni masikini na watu wake ni masikini. Na ukimwangalia usoni ...uone anaguswa na umasikini wetu. Vinginevyo hatufai...."

“Kwa sasa uhuru wa taifa letu, mara nyingi ni uhuru wa maandishi tu; maana nchi yetu ni maskini mno, ni nyonge mno kulinganisha na nchi nyingine, hata hatuwezi kutimiza wajibu wetu kwa ukamilifu kwa binadamu wengine”.  

“Watu wenye mawazo tofauti, hata wakiwa wachache, lazima wawe na haki ya kutoa mawazo yao katika majadiliano bila ya hofu ya kusumbuliwa; mawazo yao na yashindwe katika hoja za majadiliano, siyo kwa vitisho au mabavu. Majadiliano yenyewe yatakayoleta uamuzi lazima yawape nafasi watu kusema kwa uhuru kabisa.  Hata baada ya kuamua jambo, watu wawe na uhuru kuendelea kulizungumza jambo hilo”

“Elimu inayotolewa ni lazima ijenge mambo matatu kwa kila mwananchi, akili ya kuuliza, uwezo wa kujifunza kutoka kwa wengine - na kuyakataa au kuyakubali kutokana na mahitaji yake - na uwezo wa kujiamini kama raia huru na sawa katika jamii, anayethamini wengine na kuthaminiwa kwa anayofanya na siyo kwa anachopata”

I AM QUITTING FROM ACTIVE POLITICS

“I am not resigning but, I am quitting, and I have decided to do so because, I feel time is in hand for another member to lead the Nation ….”

“The almighty God has granted people with many talents, and they can think about so many things. But the important thing is my faith that, what I am doing is good for the Nation I have no power to hide people to give out different interpretation, but interpretation is the second thing.” 

“Tanzania should not believe that a one-party state is a God’s which …. As for the debate they should just debate in today’s Tanzania it is stupid to make secret the debate of on more parties. It is treason to discuss why we have single party; we have been benefited from having a one-part. Tanzania should discuss the prons and cons of having one-party or many parties …. One party has its own limitations and tends to go sleep”.

“There is a time when countries limit their people’s liberties, this can be done during war time, war limits people freedoms.”

“Now when you suppress people who are educated and who want more freedom it becomes really a problem.”

“Developing nations need democracy, but the need and necessity of democracy should come from within according to geographical necessity, maturity etc … And the internal situation of Tanzania is ready for Transformation”.

“We make mistake to imagine that we can import democracy like coca-cola or readymade garment … But ideas about democracy and democratic institutions are not divine truth, they mere to be accumulated and absorbed into the blood stream of the people and institutions through which ideas … grow out of people’s own practice”

“Leaders of the opposing parties should be serious and patriotic and they should not be money make … And if they fail during election they should know that they have failed and not to take stones and throw to their fellow members in demand to why they have failed”.

“We need at least two committed parties; we don’t want 30 small parties that will be chaos.”

“the west was struggling to post a new set of puppet leaders in the developing world. There is no other explanation rather than us efforts to influence removal rulers who were installed by Washington …. They want to install a new crop of surrogate’s leaders. I must caution them however that it is easier to do this by military coup than through democratic elections”.

“… People say that we should learn from outside from USSR ad other Eastern European countries … what should we learn from them … we should not agree to be pushed like tools …. The Soviet Union is finished … gone.

“You will never hear that any President of America had appointed a communist or socialist as the head of American army. If God himself advised that he should do so he would refuse.”

“… The majority of Tanzania would like to continue with a single party-system under CCM. But we cannot wait until the majority of the people have lost their faith in this party before the party itself seized and uses its responsibility to us her in such a major changes as this”.

“Democracy is more than a matter of majority rule, true democracy requires that minority views be respected and that everyone be given an opportunity to express their views freely and openly … every new thing starts with the support of minority…. True democracy demands that the minority have such freedom. Therefore CCM can and should welcome the opportunity to give a lead in yet another major peaceful political transition in our country”.

“No political party be permitted to exist if it is based on Religious … Religious is the right of all Tanzanians. But our party as a party has no religion… This is an absolute essential stand for the unity and peace in the country”.

“To lead is to show the way. But it is difficult to show the way in the dark, without either a light or compass. And its philosophy and its ideology are the light and the compass of political party.

“Take care of the Arusha Declaration otherwise there will come some people who will cheat you saying it is useless. The Arusha Declaration has strong foundation and will last forever and bring development in Tanzania.”

IGUNGA, IGUNGA USIHARIBU USTARABU WETU WA AMANI NA UTULIVU

JE NI MAZINGIRA GANI YANAANDALIWA NA VYAMA KUELEKEA UCHAGUZI MDOGO IGUNGA- TABORA?

Oscar Ameringer aliwahi sema kuwa "Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other" -

Hiki ndicho kinachotokea Igunga kwa sasa vyama kupitia wanasiasa wao wanajitahidi kuvuna kura kutoka kwa wananchi wa kawaida “ wenye kipato cha chini au kwa ufupi masikini; kwa msingi huu wanasiasa huwapumbaza masikini walala hoi kwa kuwanunua ili wawapigie kura bila wao wenyewe kujua kwa kutumia sera na mapenzi yao kwa chama husika na wakati mwingine kuwapatia pesa ambazo wanazipata kwa matajiri wenye malengo binafsi mara ushindi ukipatikana.

Pesa au rushwa ambayo inatolewa na wanasiasa ni mfumo wa utendaji wa kufikisha ujumbe kwa wanachama wao ili wahakikishe kwa naman yeyote ile ushindi unapatikana, kwa kauli mbio tofauti tofauti zinazoashiria maendeleo; kwa msingi huu  wa kampeni ni wakati wa neema au mavuno kwa wafuasi wao na wananchi wanyanja.

Siasa ni ushindani na ni utaalau wa juu kabisa wa kupangilia mikakati hata kama ni ya uwongo, ili mradi lengo la kushika dola litimie. Kutokana na falfasa hii Ifahamike kuwa sio kila mtu au kila chama kinanafasi sawa katika aina hii ya kushiriki katika kuufikisha ujembe; uzoefu hutumika vitisho nya kuwatisha wanyonge hutmika pia; pesa ndo usiseme; Nguvu hii ya pesa huviondoa vyama vidogo ambavyo haviwezi kushindana na kuviacha vyama vyenye nguvu kama inavyotokea Igunga wakati huu wa kampeni ya nafasi ya Ubunge.

Wanasiasa akisimama ulingoni kauli zao ni namana ya kutatua kero za wananchi katika kuondoa kero zao; sikiliza kiini chote cha kampeni huko Igunga kwa sasa ni kutatua kero za wananchi wa Igunga kwa kunadi sera mbalimbali za maendeleo tutafanya hili na lile;

Tatizo kubwa la wanansiasa sio wakweli na hawajali hasa wakisha pata au wakishachaguliwa; wanakuwa na sababu nyingi tu za kujitetea, lakini ukweli hawajali tena kwani walichotaka si wamepata kushika dola.

Kama semi hizi tatu za kiingereza zinavyosema:.

l  When the ruler himself is 'right,' then the people naturally follow him in his right course."

l  “Whatever the best man does, others do that also. The world follows the standard he sets for himself”.

l  "If a ruler himself is upright, all will go well even though he does not give orders. But if he himself is not upright, even though he gives orders, they will not be obeyed."

Semi hizi zinajumuisha tabia za wanasiasa wetu namna wanavyotakiwa wawe ili kujenga imani kwa wananchi na maendeleo ya taifa letu.

 Turudi Igunga; Kilio kikubwa kwa hivi sasa huko Igunga ni matumizi mabaya ya pesa, pengine rushwa na tukumbuke kuwa rushwa ni jiko ambao zambi  zote hupikwa huko; kwani watu hawa  hutaka kuwa viongozi ili wajitengenezee faida binafsi, ni sawa na mwanaume ambaye sio mkweli anavyoweza kumdanganya mwanamke ili aweze kuutumia mwili wa mwanamke huyo katika kutimiza kujifurahisha yeye mwenyewe; baada ya kufanikisha haja yake humdharau na kumwona sio kitu tena hata kama walikubaliana katika kusaidiana ahadi hizo zote huyeyuka na kumwacha mwnamke huyo akisononeka kwa uaminifu wake na kujitoa kwake.

Je fujo zinazoendelea huko igunga je zinatokana na wananchi hasa vijana kuelewa haki zao na nia yao na kutaka kiongozi atayechaguliwa awe kweli mtatuzi wa shida zao? Au ni vurugu tu ambazo zinachochewa na wanasiasa kwa kutumia pesa ili iwe ni sababu ya kuvuruga amani ambayo ilitakiwa itawale uchaguzi huu mdogo? Au vyama vinaandaa sababu mapema ili hata vikishindwa katika uchaguzi viweza kuhalalisha matokea kuwa wameshindwa kwa sababu hii au ile;

Tatizo langu leo hii ni hili, aina hii ya kampeni inaharibu moja ya msingi wetu mkubwa san asana ambao ulijengwa na waasisi wa taifa hili utamaduni wa uvumilivu unavyobomoka hivi sasa. Tukumbuke kuwa taifa hili linafahamika ni miongoni mwa taifa ambalo lilikuwa limetulia na wananchi wake wamekuwa wakivumiliana sana. Je kwani nini leo hii wanasiasa wanatupeleka katika hali ya kuvunja umoja wetu? Wanatutakia nini hawa wanasiasa na vizazi vyetu? Wanatamani nchi hii isitawalike kwa faida yao? Kwa nini wanaingiza  roho ya ukatili kwa vijana wadogo?

Nafikiri bado kuna kila sababu ya wanansiasa kutambua kuwa ni dhambi sana kuchezea amani ya nchi kwa masilahi binafsi na ya muda mfupi na kuliacha taifa katika janga kubwa la uvunjaji wa amani.

Pamoja na ushindani wa siasa huko Igunga lakini uchaguzi huu mdogo usiwe sababu ya kuvunja amani; tunawaomba wasimamizi wa sheria zihusuzo uchaguzi wawe makini kuhakikisha kuwa taratibu zote zinafuatwa bila kumwogopa mtu, au kikundi chochote  au chama chochote kile.

Muhimu ni kwamba tuzike tofauti zetu kwa faida ya taifa letu na vizazi vyake.
